A long weekend in this historic town on the Welsh borders.

Ironbridge Gorge

The weekend will provide an opportunity to view the beautiful landscapes of the Borderlands around the historic town of Ludlow. There are many attractions and it is rich in festivals that celebrate the heritage of the area, one of which - the Bishops Castle Michaelmas Fair - we hope to include in the trip.

We will be based at the historic Feathers Hotel in the centre of Ludlow. The price for dinner, bed and breakfast will be £65 per person per night for two people sharing. Arrangements should be made directly with the Hotel. Accommodation is at a premium so you will need to book early. Hotel information

PROVISIONAL  ITINERARY

Thursday Evening            - Dinner at 7.30pm followed by a short presentation.

Friday                         - A visit to The Ironbridge Gorge Museum.
                                   
 Saturday                     - Ludlow: Castle, Church, Medieval and Georgian buildings; 
followed by an afternoon at the Bishops Castle Michaelmass Fair.

Sunday                        - Stokesay Castle and the Clun Valley.

COST £25 per person to cover out of pocket cost of the weekend.

BEST OF THE ALPS- A photographic trip to the Swiss and Italian Alps

Jorge Sanchez ARPS is planning a trip on behalf of the Travel Group to the Swiss and Italian Alps

The tour of 8 days /7 nights will include visits to St Bernard pass, Aosta. Grimentz, Zermatt and includes a trip in the highest cable car in the World to the Klein Matterhorn .

Price is €1690 in a double room , single supplement €140

This includes hotel accomodation on a half board basis staying 5 nights in 3 and 5 star hotels and 2 nights in 2 star hotels, all transport costs,(except travel to Geneva), and entrance charges.

Members should make their own arrangements to travel to Geneva airport to arrive by 14:30 on 20th June. Your own travel insurance is required.
